Peggy Seeger plays at Foxlowe Arts Centre

One of the best regarded folk singers in the UK and USA, Peggy Seeger will be playing The Foxlowe Arts Centre on April 16 as part of the Anti Capitalist Roadshow.

Margaret “Peggy” Seeger is an American folk singer. She is also well known in Britain, where she lived for more than 30 years with her husband, the singer and songwriter Ewan MacColl. Ewan wrote for her the classic, well know ballad ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ covered by the likes of Johnny Cash, Leona Lewis and Shirley Bassey to name just a few.

Peggy is appearing along with Roy Bailey, Grace Petrie and Jim Woodland as part of the ‘Anti-Capitalist Roadshow’. Carrying on the tradition of the American folk activist movement you can be sure of a night of world class quality music from some of the best singer songwriters ever heard in Leek and The Moorlands.
