Joan Bennett, chair of Leek and District Historical Society, will present a fascinating and informative illustrated talk about Foxlowe in WW1 when it was used as a Red Cross Hospital treating injured men from Leek and elsewhere.

Many well know Leek families were involved in running the hospital involved in nursing, cooking, fund raising etc. Joan informs us about this engrossing period between the years when Foxlowe was a private house before becoming the headquarters of the Textile Union.

The lecturers in this programme ‘gift’ their talks to the Foxlowe, for which we thank them.

Admission is free, with a Bucket Collection, also for the Foxlowe, for which we thank you.
