Join us to celebrate this year’s apple bounty.

Convert your windfalls and surplus apples into delicious juice.

  • Watch or join the apple juicing – with a traditional screw press and a modern electric mill (to prepare the fruit) that everyone can help to feed.
  • Taste (and maybe buy) some unusual apple varieties from Brogdale (National Fruit Collection) in Kent.
  • Have a go at identifying unknown apple varieties.
  • Try the apple peeler/corer/slicer.
  • Taste our apple cakes and treats.
  • Bring any surplus apples for juicing (plus bottles to take the juice away) – details below.
  • Garden fruit hunt.
  • Jam and chutney.
  • Locally produced cider to taste and buy.
  • Appley food in the cafe.

Free Entry – All Welcome

If you want your apples juiced:

  • Bring apples (up to 9kg or 3 carrier bags) in reasonable condition. Windfalls are OK, as long as there is no rot and you don’t have animals grazing near your tree(s).
  • Help us wash, mill, press and bottle your apples (better still, bring them already washed).
  • Provide containers for your juice (ideally 75cl wine bottles).
  • Cost is 75p per 75cl bottle of juice, plus 25p for optional pasteurising.

If you need to have your juice pasteurised, please supply one clean glass wine bottle (or 75cl equivalent) with a screw cap for every two and a half kilogrammes of apples that you bring. Glass bottles in good condition with screw caps are necessary for pasteurising. Please note, we can’t guarantee that you will get the same bottles back.

If you intend to drink the juice quickly, you can store it for a few days (up to 3)  in the fridge. In that case pasteurising will not be necessary and you can bring any sort of bottle. Well rinsed plastic bottles are suitable. If the juice is not pasteurised you can take it away immediately. It will taste even better than the pasteurised juice and cost less but must be used up quickly.

If you have more than 9kg (20lb), please contact us, as we can arrange separate pressing sessions for large quantities.
