1914-1918-2018, the War to begin all Wars – a live Peace Concert featuring 25 songs performed by –

The Peace through Folk Choir, Pete Hopkins, Esther Brennan, John Morris, Val Williamson, Jane Rushton, and Rick Ford.

Produced by Peace through Folk a Leek based ‘Not for Profit Trust’ whose aim is to celebrate and promote Peace, Friendship and Reconciliation through Songs and Music.

This is their final concert at the end of a five year journey through 27 different events aimed at recognising the stupidity and cruel futility and consequences of the so called ‘Great War’.

11.00 am on Monday 11th November 1918 was not the end but the beginning of a series of wars and conflicts that can be tracked right up to the present day.

Harry Patch the last fighting Tommy said –
“War is organized murder and nothing else . The Politicians who took us to war should have been given the guns and told to settle their differences themselves, instead of organising nothing better than legalised mass murder.”
