Contrasting textile work by three local artists is currently on display in the Foxlowe Cafe. Brenda Tolchard, Kathryn Rogerson and Judy Lambert share an interest in making artwork, with applique and stitch, inspired by nature.
Brenda Tolchard: Those ever changing meetings of sky, sea and land will always intrigue me – hold my attention.
Judy Lambert: My interests are focused on natural forms and landscapes, especially woodland. This derives from a love of the hills and woodlands of childhood holidays in the Lake District.
Kathryn Rogerson: The often bleak landscape of the Pennine Hills has remained a close and constant feature in my surroundings as I moved from Lancashire to Staffordshire. The remote and windswept hills provide a link with my past to the present and often find their way into my work.
