ST EDWARD’S CHURCH OF ENGLAND ACADEMY WORK INSPIRED BY HUNDERTWASSER
The beautiful vibrant artwork currently on display in the Foxlowe Cafe was created by Year 7 students at St Edward’s Church of England Academy using paint, string and tissue paper on canvas.
These colourful mixed media paintings were inspired by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Born in 1928, Hundertwasser studied Fine Art in Vienna and in later life moved into architectural design and applied art. The artist shunned straight lines in favour of organic forms, referencing nature and allowing the viewer to interpret images based on their own life experiences.
