A Winter Gathering exhibition: Saturday 19 November – Saturday 24 December.

Staffordshire Artists Co-operative will open their first ever joint exhibition at Foxlowe Arts Centre on 19 November. Titled ‘A Winter Gathering’ it brings together an expansive range of original arts and crafts to suit all tastes and pockets – ideal for the Christmas season.

Set up in 2009, Staffordshire Artists Co-operative are based at Gallery at 12 in Eccleshall. With 17 members, their work spans many disciplines including paintings, photography, ceramics, sculptures, paper art, jewellery, textile art and accessories, home furnishings, metalwork and woodwork.

Members participating in ‘A Winter Gathering’ are:

Peter Frazer. Fine Art Sculpture and Painting Degree at Kings  College, Newcastle-upon-Tyne  1961 – 1965. Studied under Victor Pasmore and Richard Hamilton. During his lecturing career at Burslem School of Art, (which became Staffordshire Polytechnic), his colleagues included Arthur Berry and Professor Jack Skinner. Although primarily a sculptor, Peter has developed a fascination for figurative landscape artworks in both oil and watercolour.


Angela Smith, jeweller working creatively with wire, glass, beads and semi-precious stones.


Noel Bennett, photographer of rural landscapes, portraits, weddings and recently producing the latest in photographic printing technique – ‘float prints’.


Helen Cartlidge, artist working in watercolour, inks, collage and mixed media.


Lyn Cooke, silversmith jeweller.

Pom Fuller, watercolour artist, teaches and runs workshops.

Tina Paramour, papier maché artist.


Tom Hackney, abstract artist and furniture restorer.


Sally Hadley, photographer, handmade papers and pressed flower artist.

Jo Hill, textile artist specialising in wall art and home furnishing.


Vance Lupton, wood turner.


Mike Wheeley, abstract artist and sculptor.


Louise Spencer, textile artist, felt and silk scarves and accessories.


Craig Sumner, fine artist working in oil, watercolour, pastel, pen and ink.


Wayne Tomlinson, mixed media painter of land and seascapes.

Jo Hearn, ceramic and glass artist.


Charis Jones, metalwork artist, blacksmith.

Ronnie Cruwys, pen and ink street drawings and painting traditional egg tempera icons.


‘A Winter Gathering’ runs from 19 November to 24 December at the Foxlowe Gallery, upstairs at the Foxlowe Arts Centre.

Foxlowe Gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday 10am-4pm.

A special preview evening takes place on Friday 18 November at 7pm and there will be an opportunity for visitors to meet the artists on 2 and 17 December.
