Omar is a gripping thriller about betrayal, real and suspected, in the Occupied Territories. Omar (Adam Bakri) is a young man whose village has been separated down the middle by the infamous wall. He lives on one side while his friends live on the other. Each day Omar scales the 8ft tall concrete wall under threat of gunfire to visit his friends and his childhood sweetheart. Arrested after the killing of an Israeli soldier, he agrees to work as informant. Palestinian filmmaker Hany Abu-Assad has made a dynamic, action packed drama about the insoluble moral dilemmas and tough choices facing those on the frontlines of conflict.
