Foxlowe Film

Foxlowe Film will be showing a film a week for 10 weeks as a trial run starting 28th February 2012

Midnight in Paris

There are just 6 tickets left for Midnight in Paris which are all on sale at Over the Rainbow on Derby Street, Leek.  All other venues have sold out.

Foxlowe Films – True Grit

True Grit tickets are still available at all outlets around the town – Colloco (Sheepmarket), Over the Rainbow (Derby Street), Boardman’s Newsagents (Broad Street) and the Foxlowe Gallery.  Last week we had a full house, although there were a few tickets available on the night.  My week with Marilyn is now sold out (unless we get any returns), but there are still tickets left for all the rest of the programme.

We’ve had lots of positive feedback from the first two screenings.  There are still things to get ironed out and we are aware seating is far from ideal.  We asked the audience to say why an independent community cinema was important to them – these were just a few answers:

Several people valued being able to walk – “Waited 30 years for a cinema I can walk to”    “I love film and to be able to walk here!”

Cost and travelling time was also important – “Much more lovely than going to the Potteries”   “Cheaper.  Closer to home – less travelling”

The sense of community was mentioned – “Community spirit, local, safe, small”   “It brings the community together”   “Watching films in company is much more fun”

The quality of films was also an issue – “Opportunity to provide films of a wide range”  “Offers an alternative to the mainstream”

So, if you haven’t come along yet – why not give it a go.  At £4 a ticket (£3 concessions) you can afford to just give it a try even if its not a film you have heard of before.  Doors open at 7pm and there is a licensed bar, so you can relax, meet up with friends and have a drink before the film.

Foxlowe Film – update

If you have got a ticket for Jane Eyre this Tuesday, please note the front entrance of the Foxlowe will be open so there will be no need to access round the rear.  We’re really looking forward to this screening and to seeing you all there!

Jane Eyre – Sold Out

Foxlowe Films have to announce that tickets for the initial screening of Jane Eyre in the Rainbow room have now sold out.  We are really sorry that some potential film goers will have been disappointed and have been unable to purchase tickets.  We are limited to 70 seats and the tickets did sell very rapidly.  As a group we are heartened by the level of interest which bodes well for the future of Foxlowe Films.  Can we remind interested customers that tickets for all subsequent weeks of the 10 week programme are on sale from Over the Rainbow (Derby Street), Colloco (Sheepmarket), Boardman’s  Newsagents (Broad Street) and the Foxlowe Gallery.  We would urge people wanting to come to any subsequent films to buy tickets early to make sure they are not disappointed.

Foxlowe Film – Jane Eyre update

Tickets only went on sale at the start of the week and are selling fast.  If you want to make sure of a seat, then we advise to purchase your tickets in advance.  In addition to the previously advertised outlets, tickets are also now on sale from Boardman’s News on Broad Street, Leek.
