Café Art – One Hundred and Fifty Years of Bridal Fashion
The One Hundred and Fifty Years of Bridal Fashion exhibition in the Foxlowe café, created by Pat Bennett, is a study not just of bridal wear but also documents our changing attitudes to marriage.
Encompassing photographs, poetry and philosophy the display charts wartime brides, the swinging 60s and most recently civil partnerships.
One of the most resonant sections features the same cotton lace wedding dress worn through three generations finally updated for a wedding in Las Vegas.
The exhibition can be viewed until Monday June 8th. The next café arts display will be paintings by Colin Grimes.
