Animals & Botanicals
As part of the successful Live Age festival 2015 event www.liveagefestival.co.uk, held at Trinity Church and the Roebuck, Wall Hill care home is showing work from their weekly Wednesday Art Group which can be seen in the downstairs corridor at the Foxlowe.
The display is called ‘Animals & Botanicals’ as these are currently the subjects most of the residents choose to draw and paint. The Wall Hill Art Group is a great example of increased wellbeing through participation in art, with the residents regularly expressing surprise and delight at what they have achieved! We’re also collecting comments from the public which we can share with the artists in the care home to encourage them to continue with their creative endeavours, please come along and add your thoughts.
Another display board is dedicated to ‘Older People Who Inspire Us’ with examples of some remarkable people in the news and an opportunity for anyone passing by to add their own choices of inspirational role models for active older age.
